LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Arccivo is soon to be a television star. Officially released today at the Craft & Hobby Association’s 2006 convention and trade show, the portable scrapbook layout station called Arccivo – and its creators – are going to be stars of a new television show called Everyday Edisons.
In addition to providing a portable scrapbooking station, Arccivo also allows scrapbookers to secure and transport unfinished page layouts.
The idea for Arccivo came from three scrapbooking moms from North Carolina. Pam Hester, Deborah Mance, and Mary La Valley attended many scrapbook conventions and workshops where they learned tricks of the trade and first discovered the frustration of transporting their designs.
“We always seemed to run out of time at the scrapbook workshops and conventions,” said Hester. “We were learning new techniques and tricks, so our layouts were never mounted. We would have to take the whole design apart and hope we could put it back together when we got home.”
In June 2005, Hester and Mance pitched their prototype at a casting call for a new reality television show called Everyday Edisons. Beating out thousands of other contestants, the scrapbooking moms – and their product – were selected for the Show.
With the help Enventys – a Charlotte, North Carolina-based product development firm – the prototype was refined, engineered, branded and made ready to take to market. And the entire process was documented for the Show.
“It was a dream come true,” said Mance. “We had started with two pieces of metal and magnets.” Arccivo has come a long way in a very short period of time.
About Arccivo
Arccivo is an exciting new layout storage case designed specifically for scrapbooking. The sleek, soft, and supple exterior opens like a book, resting on gripping rubber shoes that hold Arccivo in place and level on the table while you work. Once open, Arccivo reveals two layout surfaces for your pages. Beneath the work surfaces are ½” deep storage compartment to hold materials for your current project. After you've finished cropping for the day, flexible magnetic sheets cover your work, locking it securely in place even if you have not yet glued it down. Once the magnetic sheets are in place, simply close Arccivo and everything is ready and waiting for the next time you crop. Learn more about Arccivo at http://www.arccivo.com.
